The United States has lifted sanctions on the Afghan government
International organizations and institutions will be allowed to deal with the Taliban and the Haqqani Network. The United States will also issue two licenses to provide humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan.
The US Treasury Department has allowed international organizations to co-operate with the Taliban and the Haqqani network in dealing with the Afghan people and meeting basic humanitarian needs in the country.
A statement issued by the ministry said that the Office for the Protection of Foreign Assets has issued two general licenses.
The statement said the licenses were intended to assist the Afghan people in the regular delivery of aid and in other activities related to meeting the country's humanitarian needs.
According to the US Treasury Department, a license allows certain international organizations, including the US government, NGOs and the United Nations, to engage in transactions with the Taliban or the Haqqani Network.
According to the news agency, the second license allows international organizations to make some transactions with the Taliban government related to the export of food, medicine and medical equipment.
