In Gwadar, the first CPEC project 'Pak-China Technical Vocational Institute' completed
The inauguration of the Pak-China Strategic Professional Institute in Gwadar on Friday marked the completion of Pakistan's first China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong was present at the opening ceremony via a video link.
On the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador remarked that the institute represents seventy years of friendship between Pakistan and China, and the project was completed in just 20 months at a cost of 10 million rupees. Ambassador Rong emphasized the state-of-the-art technology and machinery possessed by the Pak-China Vocational Institute to provide the best technical education and skills to the youth of Balochistan, especially the youth of Gwadar.
He further added that the students of Pak-China Institute will not only get free accommodation but also scholarships. Zhang Baosheng, president of China Overseas Port Holding Company, said that the institute is an exceptional institution not only for Gwadar but for the whole region, and will play an important role in the creative development of the region.
He further added that the development of the institute will help in securing good jobs for the talented youth of the region by providing vocational training. “Technical institutions play an important role in industrial development, and trained youth have excellent opportunities to work in Gwadar Port, Free Zone Industry and other CPEC projects,” Baosheng commented.
